Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team, providing compassionate support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, supporting care plans, and ensuring the well-being of service users. A valid driving licence and good communication skills are desirable to facilitate effective service delivery across various locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support individuals with daily living activities in accordance with personalised care plans
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in service users’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
- Support medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with light domestic tasks to promote a clean and safe environment
- Utilise IT systems to update records and document care activities efficiently
- Drive to different locations as required, ensuring timely arrival at appointments or care visits
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Good understanding of care plans and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for documentation and record keeping purposes
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and team members
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between multiple locations
